Subjects Taught
8th Math

I graduated from Dyersburg State Community College with an Associates in Business. I then finished my college education at Freed-Hardeman University. I first received my Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics, then pursued & received a Master's of Education in Curriculum & Instruction.

My first teaching job was at Halls Elementary in first grade in August 1997. I decided I maybe wanted to try older kiddos, so I was hired at Trimble Elementary. There I taught math for all 6th-8th grades and a couple of years I also had 5th graders. When the county decided to merge Trimble and Newbern Schools' 6th-8th grades into Northview Middle School, I was packed up and moved with them. At NMS I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

I am a born and raised Dyer County-ian (if that's a word). I have lived in Newbern all my life, I converted my Dyersburg hubby, and we're raising our two boys to be Choctaws! It's great to be working & teaching in the same school system that I came through!

So, yes, I am married and we have two boys, two fish, and a dog. Matt is a freshman (2016-17), Andy is a 6th grader (2016-17), Zoe dog is 4 years old, and the fish ....... well, they're just fish. Poseidon is the classroom fish and Fishy is the home fish.

I love to read when I get the chance. I like to fish and love to watch my kids play their sports!
